Breaking Ground

Footings dug and poured, all materials delivered for
foundation.

All block work complete, brick facing has been put
on most areas that will not be covered by porches, the
foundation should be completed tomorrow.
August 12,
2007
There was a
problem with the measurements regarding the foundation, so the
masons
have had to come back and fix the areas that were not
right. This will set us back a little.

The framers
have been extremely busy! I love being able to see the
rooms and how the flow of the house is going to be.
The back porch is probably my favorite area, I am so
pleased with the look of the posts and beams. The girls love running up and down the attic
stairs. They should start the roof rafters today- the
scaffolding they have built is where the roof peak
will be.

Roof and
dormers framed out. The framing crew is run by Bobby
Guy, and every time I go look at the house I am amazed
at how much they have accomplished and how great it
looks.

Early
this morning, they did most of this work yesterday- dormers
are fitted with rafters and beadboard, attic finished
off, roof felt is down. They are starting on the porch
rafters today and are already hard at work.
